While the overall growth of the chemical industry in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has grown at a very slow pace but the region is getting ready to witness significant growth in the refining and petrochemicals sector as the state majors like BPCL, IOCL, CPCL and MRPL are up-grading, revamping and expanding their existing facilities to process more complex crudes and expand the product baskets.

Another key development is the announcement of three LNG terminals which have been announced by IOCL in Ennore, GAIL in Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) and Petronet LNG in Ganagavaram (Andhra Pradesh) which will take care of the feedstock as well as energy requirements for the industrial growth in the region in the foreseeable future. These three LNG terminals come in addition to existing 5 MMTPA terminal in Kochi, commissioned two years back. Additionally, the states will have to develop the pipeline distribution network for evacuation of gas from the terminals which would provide ample business opportunities to the engineering services, equipment and automation services providers. The half day EPC forum will bring forth the discussions on the opportunities in the southern region of India for the engineering services as well as the allied services sectors in the field of midstream and downstream chemicals processing sector.

Water challenge is not new to the states of South especially in Tamil Nadu where the state government has commissioned one of the largest desalination facilities in the country to meet the water demand in the city. One day water conference on the theme of: “Ensuring Water Security through Technological Interventions” scheduled on December 11, 2015 will have deliberations on the trending issues of “Water Management in Smart Cities” and “Projects and Opportunities”. The program has been curated by the members of the Central Advisory Board under the Chairmanship of Mr A B Pandya.

CHEMTECH will also organise the focused technical conference on Pumps Valves and Fittings (PVF) on the theme of “Making India the Hub for Global Pumps & Valves Industry”. Presently, the overall Indian PVF manufacturing sector plays a very small role in the global industry. Indian manufacturers continue to face barriers in entering international market either due to compliance standards or cost issues. Although, many large scale manufacturers have made successful inroads in the international markets, but there is still immense scope for not so prominent players as well in the fast growing Middle Eastern, US and African markets. In a bid to support the Make in India campaign, launched by the Honourable Prime Minister of our country, CHEMTECH is organising one day conference on the theme of: Making India the Hub for Global Pumps & Valves Industry on December 11, 2015. The conference program will holistically cover the key concerns which need immediate attention for the manufacturers in India to be globally competent. Speakers from the domains of PVF manufacturing sector, EPC services providers and the end user industries viz. refineries, petrochemicals and chemicals etc. will participate in deliberations in the day long conference.

CHEMTECH South Expo 2015 will bring the core industrial sectors to a common platform and highlight the engineering excellence over the three days international meet from December 10-12, 2015 in Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
