Mr. B NarayanGroup President ( Procurement & Projects ) Reliance Industries Ltd &Chairman – Central Advisory Board, Chemtech EPC World Expo 2017Thirty years back when we were implementing projects, I had not heard so much about safety, but today when we sit down for our meetings, first thing that we talk about is safety. As the projects become more complex involving larger capacities, very heavy equipment and large number of interfaces , we need to give lot of importance to HSE element right through the stages of engineering design , procurement and installation so that plant is implemented safely and handed over to ensure safe maintenance and operations. Simultaneously, as we go forward, we need to make project implementation more effective and more efficient since there is much pressure today on cost and schedule of the projects.
Mr. K.K. MaheshwariManaging DirectorUltraTech Cement Limited - Aditya Birla GroupRegulatory environment has been the biggest challenge in the Indian context for the project owners as well as the EPC contractors since lot of approvals come through at different stages. Delays in approvals, results in cost overruns and consequent disputes that causes lot of misery all the players whether they are from public or private sector. In India, the dispute resolution mechanism is fairly slow as it may take years before all the problems get resolved even if these are in the best interest of the parties.
Mr. Subramanian SarmaCEO & Managing DirectorL&T Hydrocarbon Engineering LimitedWithout a strong leader it is very difficult for any organization to deliver success and even if it delivers success it will be very difficult to sustain. Today I think the biggest challenge EPC and service industry is facing is lack of leadership planning. I think the growth of the organization as I see is limited by the ability to produce the leaders and nothing else.
Mr. Sanjay JoshiSenior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Country Manager for IndiaAker SolutionsThe EPC conference aptly focuses on digital transformation. It will be an excellent platform to discuss how market drivers are causing companies to transform systems and processes and provide more value throughout a project lifecycle. I look forward to connecting with the industry fraternity at this event.
Mr. Sunder KalyanamGroup Managing Director, Engineering & Construction GrowthPetrofac - Engineering & ConstructionMy expectation from the event is that it should provide a platform for the larger good of the industry where all stake holders collaborate to get the best out of each other at a time when Indian Hydrocarbon sector is poised for unprecedented Growth.
Mr .Bhaskar PatelManaging Director- India Operating Centre,TechnipFMCEPC World Conference is an ideal platform for energy stakeholders to exchange best practices and thereby, addressing influence of disruptive technologies to attain efficiency and cost effectiveness in response to evolving customer demands.
Mr. Harendra PandyaProject Director & Senior Vice PresidentDeepak Phenolics LimitedContinuous renewal and collaboration are embedded in every Chemtech event and thereby professionals look forward to annual Expo's. Cherry on the cake this time will be larger participation across the globe and all inclusive agenda for four quadrants of the industry i.e. Technology Licensors, EPC Consultants, Suppliers/Contractors and Owner operators!! I will be there, will you?
Dr. Christian BruchMember of the Executive Board LindeAG - Engineering Division, GermanyLooking forward, I think there is only one thing where we can be certain is - Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity is going to remain and not going to change. And the less predictable scenario in terms of growth political risk and boundary conditions will still lead to reluctance in investments or to decide on new projects. Only better ability to manage risks & more complex projects will provide participants with reasonable sustainable base to do business.
Mr. Matthias BertschManaging DirectorLinde Engineering India Pvt. Ltd.The core values of the leader are its respect, its knowledge, its competence of collaborates with different stake holders.
Mr. Mark BelloSenior Vice President DownstreamJacobs EngineeringMy bold prediction is that - in 2020 clients and their supply chain will work fully integrated together reducing costs and shortening schedules by more than 50%. My message to the owners is to really create an environment of integration of supply chain so everybody works together to drive innovation for projects. To the suppliers and contractors I would say – be bold to clients, be bold to the owners, drive innovation and develop contracting models which will drive right behavior on those projects because in the end this will drive innovation and better returns on investments and of course better cash flows.
Mr. Bimal ParikhRegional Vice President and Head of Sales & Business Development,Asia & Australia, Fluor-Energy & ChemicalsI define leadership someone who can influence, galvanize his colleague or a group of colleagues or multiple groups to meet their full potential or exceed their potential and punch beyond their weight and at the same time it displays the characteristics like humility, a one who is humble one who is shining in the reflection of his team’s success is very important.
Mr. K RavindranathFormer Sr. Vice - President & Whole - time Director,L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering LimitedCurtailed investments, tightening of budgets, shrinking timelines, increasing scale and complexities of the projects and high expectations of project owners from the EPC players are some of the many challenges that the contractors are facing presently. Addressing these challenges would require paradigm shift across all the stake holders, across the complete value chain of the EPC and not just only one block.
Dr. Ken ChoudharyPresident - Asia Region Fluor (China)Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.Behavior Based Safety, HSE Walkthrough- Management-in-Action, Construction Work Packages & Advanced Work Packaging, Flange Management, Clean Pipe Program etc. are some of the best innovative approaches in construction.
Mr. Harsh Vardhan SinghHead - Group ProjectsAditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt Ltd.In Government and private sectors, everyone is now having the freedom to recruit when there is a lack of leadership and the technique is very simple ‘Catch them young and develop’. So you always have to be watchful that who is showing the promising leadership traits very early and then job rotation is done so that he becomes the leader.
Mr. Kumar SwamyManaging DirectorF- Intressenter India Pvt. Ltd.A sustainable green business value chain for building India as a preferred Chemtech destination in every discipline
Mr. Gautam WatveDirectorSuyash IndustriesDigitisation is the new wave engulfing all industries in many unique ways. It has redefined the relationships between suppliers and OEMs, enabling them to work together in mutual beneficial ways. Embracing technology and embedding it in the DNA of the company should be at the core of all future strategies for enhanced growth.
