Format for Icon Lecture Series:

  1. The Icon Lectures will be held on February 21 and 22, 2019. All the interested students (undergraduates and postgraduates) are required to register for the desired day(s) on the website. All undergraduate and postgraduate students with valid student identity cards from any year of study, institute or course are allowed to participate.
  2. A registration fee of Rs. 250/- will be levied per student per day. This is to be submitted in the form of DD.  Students are requested to mention their name and contact details on the backside of their respective dds.
  3. The participants are required to register for each day separately before sending in their DDs. Only registered students will get an entry into the lecture venue.
  4. DD of Rs.250/- per person (non-refundable) needs to be favored in the name of “CHEMTECH FOUNDATION” and is to be posted at:

Rules:

  1. All participants are expected to be seated at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of the event.
  2. The participants are expected to maintain decorum throughout the event. They are especially requested to maintain absolute silence when the ICON speaks.
  3. The Organizers reserve the right to search / frisk the student (including his/her bags, clothes or other possessions) through Security Personnel or any other representatives
  4. Mobile phones must be strictly switched off at all times during the lectures.
  5. Bags shall be sealed before the participant enters the venue of the Lecture.
  6. Bags, laptops, helmets, bottles, lighters, tins or cans, musical instruments, water balloons, eggs, flammable, toxic, illegal or hazardous substances, tobacco or tobacco products, metal containers, firecrackers, fireworks, weapons (including Swiss army knives and similar instruments), or any other article which might endanger or unduly annoy any other person are not allowed inside the venue. No provision is made for the storage of these items and each of these items will be confiscated at security check points and will not be returned.
  7. No outside food and/or alcohol may be brought inside the venue.
  8. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the venue or its premises.
  9. The use of any equipment of any kind including without limitation to mobile phones, transistors, computers, cameras or any other audio visual recording equipment, for recording and/or communication is strictly prohibited.
  10. The student will not sell or offer for sale any product or service from any part of the venue and may not distribute or give away any free item(s) or any political, religious, charitable, commercial, advertising or promotional material(s) from or at any part of the venue.
  11. Foul, abusive or any discriminatory language (whether on the grounds of race, religion or otherwise), unruly language, unruly or threatening behaviour, entry onto the dais or the throwing or projecting of any article within the venue shall not be tolerated at any point of time
  12. Any property left anywhere at the venue remains at the entire risk of the owner of the property or person leaving the same, the Organizers do not accept any liability for the theft or other loss or damage of such property.
  13. Violation of any of the above mentioned Rules and Regulations shall result in the expulsion of the defaulter from the venue and strict action will be taken against the same.

Poster Exhibition:

Poster Presentation Competition is a challenge for budding technologists, to pour their ideas into a form that is both convincing and appealing. It serves as a platform for your innovations, which promises your exposure to eminent people from the academia and industry. Through this competition, we hope to give you an opportunity to exercise both, your technical and creative skills, and be rewarded for them via participation.

All registered participants can submit a poster for the conference. As long as criteria of scientific and formal quality are met, contributions to the poster session are open to any biotechnology research topic beyond the main scope of the textbook.

Format for Poster Exhibition:

  1. The Poster Exhibition will be held on February 21 and 22, 2019. All undergraduate and postgraduate students with valid student identity cards from any year of study, institute or course are allowed to participate.

Criteria:

  1. Innovative ideas which originally belong to the participant(s).
  2. Ideas not copied from the text books/Internet.
  3. Ideas not restricted to the curriculum.
  4. Idea should have some practical aspect (Expected).

General Rules:

  1. While registering for the competition, each team is required to submit an abstract for their poster.
  2. Individual or team participation is accepted. Maximum number of team members can be four.
  3. The abstract should clearly state the scenario of problem and your approach to solve it.
  4. The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must include suitable references, besides names of the authors. Authors are not to include the names of their mentors or guides, if any, in their abstracts or their posters. This would lead to disqualification of the team.
  5. Abstracts must be named as follows- <Name of first author>_<poster title>.pdf
  6. Abstracts in any format other than the one specified will not be considered.
  7. Abstracts should be mailed at sopbt.posterpresentation@gmail.com before January 10, 2019.

  10. The selected abstracts would be given a chance to present their prototype during SOP in front of panel of specialists.
  11. If selected for the final presentation, the preprinted flex poster of dimensions 1m x 1m (inclusive of borders) must be brought to the venue by the teams. The poster must also have rivet holes on all corners.
  12. Ideas should be original or due credit must be given in the form of references in case of review posters. The organizers will not take any responsibility for any legal action faced by contestants for infringement of intellectual property rights.
  13. Authors are not to include the names of their mentors or guides, if any, in their abstracts or their posters. This would lead to disqualification of the team.
  14. The organizers will not be responsible for any damage to the posters.

Prototype Exhibition:

Create a prototype that highlights the best of your knowledge and idea. Problem solvers, explorers and creators are welcome to find their place in this event. But mere suggesting isn’t the idea of this event; here you are required to present your own prototype (physical or virtual) dealing with a specific problem. Though the event is open to all kinds of prototypes implementing the studies related to Biotechnology, further categories will be announced soon.

Start-up Stories aim to provide participants (UG as well as PG students) a platform to interact with young innovators who have successfully established their startups. We anticipate to enable participants learn from the experiences of these young innovators and figure out how these young minds embarked upon their journeys through all the hindrances and emerged as pioneering leaders in the industry.

The workshop offers ways to help students learn science in lab settings. Here the students will get a hands-on experience of the different laboratory techniques used and will be provided with demonstration to various state of the art techniques in Biotechnology.

It will also help students to apply the concepts that they have learnt in lectures, thus helping them to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based world.
