Dr. C Laxma Reddy

Dr. C. Laxma Reddy is an upstream Oil & Gas professional with more than three decades of diverse experience covering the entire gamut of E&P industry. Dr. Reddy has completed his M.Sc. and PhD in Applied Geology from IIT, Bombay, one of the most prestigious institutions of India.
He has worked in field operational areas like Ankleshwar in Western India, in Assam-Arakan Fold Belt in NE India and in offshore & onshore areas of Krishna-Godavari basin in Andhra Pradesh, during which he monitored, supervised, coordinated and executed various well site geological operations like litho-logging, electro logging, production testing, log interpretation and correlation and other production and development geology activities like workover operations. He was associated with the Director (Exploration) of ONGC, Advisor (Exploration) and Joint Secretary (Exploration) MoP&NG for giving expert advice on hydrocarbon exploration and development activities and technical review of development plans of commercial discoveries. He holds a diverse and versatile experience from reviewing the exploration programs of upstream companies to the formulation of policies and strategies to boost the E&P sector in India. For his meritorious services, he was conferred with several prestigious awards and accolades viz. Certificate of Merit for excellent Monitoring and Data Acquisition in Offshore Exploratory Wells of India, Director (Exploration)’s Award by ONGC.
Currently, Dr. Reddy is working as the Additional Director General (Exploration) at Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. As ADG(E), he monitors all the exploration activities across the country. He is involved in making policies to strategize the import reduction, appraisal of unappraised sedimentary basins, early monetization of discoveries and increasing oil and gas production including getting foreign investments and technology.
