Sourav Daspatnaik has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India and holds a master’s degree in operations management from the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA. Hehas a versatile and rich cross functional professional experience of over 32 years.
Sourav Daspatnaik is currently Chief Executive Officer, Swach Environment Private Limited, a SREI Group initiative. Swach Environment Private Limited a SREI initiative is one of the holistic environment infrastructure companies involved in in developing and Operating 24×7 water utilities, waste water facilities, common effluent treatment facilities and environmental infrastructure facilities. His expertise covers enterprise wide leadership and management of Water and Waste water infrastructure and B2B business for Water and Waste water sector, decentralized water solutions for rural areas as well as adaptation of innovative technologies for urban & Industrial waste and water infrastructure.
He also serves as an independent director in several Indian companies and mentors social enterprises in the area of innovative and clean technologies for water supply and sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Sourav is also a part of consultative group of the Ministry of Water Resources and River rejuvenation for utilization and promotion of new technologies for Water and Waste water treatment and Management.
Sourav has started his professional career with Tata Motors and thereafter served in withleading companies such as Tata Steel, Ispat Industries Ltd, Mercer HR Consulting and the ApeejaySurendra Group in different capacities with deep insights across several functional areas – engineering, marketing and sales, strategy, human resources, sustainability, project management and infrastructure. He has a sound understanding of policy advocacy and formulation and social enterprise. He is the one of the founding members of National Water Alliance of India supported by FICCI and Industry bodies and part of the India-Israel Innovation Bridge for commercially developing technologies under G2G initiative.
In the recent past, Sourav has served as Chairman, Skill Development Task force and Co-Chair Infrastructure Committee of Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and national board member for the National HRD Network, an apex body for human resources professionals. He was a founder director of the Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council, under the NSDC. Due to his enterprising and entrepreneurial nature in addition to the professional forays in India, Sourav hasworked extensively in South East Asian countries such as Singapore, Myanmar and Thailand. He has played a vital role in the launch of the India-Myanmar Solar Energy Forum and India Myanmar Trade & Commerce including bilateral trade ties between the two governments and people.
