Mrs. Alexandra Serra

Alexandra Serra is an executive manager, with more than 25 years of experience in the public and private water sector and a wide experience in international markets. Her main professional experience is related to water supply and wastewater management and engineering consultancy. She is Master of Sciences in Civil Engineering, with the thesis “Financing Models in Water Services Enablers of Infrastructure’s Asset Management Best Practices”.
She started her carrier as consultant engineer, having coordinated several water resources management plans.Her management carrier began at the multinational DHV Group, where she was Business Unit Director at FBO-DHV subsidiary. After 2001, at AGUAS DE PORTUGAL GROUP, she had different managerial positions: responsible for the Investments Planning and Control Unit, Engineering Director and Executive Board Member of the Group Shared Services Business Unit and president of AQUASIS, the IT company of AGUAS DE PORTUGAL GROUP. Presently, she is Managing Director of Águas de Portugal International.
Alexandra Serra is the President of the Portuguese Water Partnership, a platform for the internationalization of the Portuguese Water Sector. She is also member of the Advisory Board of the Portuguese Commissioner for EXPO Dubai 2020.
In 2010-2011, she was President of the Portuguese Water Resources Association and vice-president since 2006. She was the Portuguese Commissioner to the 5th World Water Forum, in Istanbul.In the 6th World Water Forum, in Marseille, she was member and rapporteur of the Thematic Task-Group “Improve Sanitation for All”. In the 8th World Water Forum, in Brasilia, she was member of the Portuguese Executive Committee.
